fever (takman)

Takman, the Atharvaveda's fever: addressed in the second person, classified by its period (tertian, quartan, constant), by its season (autumnal, cold, hot, of the rainy season) and by its colour, and sent away to named foreign peoples. It has its own hymns -- AVS 1.25, 5.22, 6.20 -- and occurs nowhere outside the Atharvaveda.
