affliction (amīvā)

Amīvā: sickness in general, the affliction a god is asked to smite or expel rather than a named complaint. The one member of this group that is a four-Veda word -- Soma, Brahmaṇaspati and Vāstoṣpati are each called amīvahán, "slayer of amīvā".
